Loisaba Conservancy is an important stop on Kenya's primary animal migration route. Every year, more than 800 elephants, rare Grevy's zebras, and buffalo roam its open lands. The conservancy is also home to more than 250 bird species and 50 mammals, including lion prides, leopards, cheetahs, and wild dogs.

Loisaba tops in environmentally beneficial policies—using solar energy, hydroelectricity, and water recycling. Even cooking is done responsibly without charcoal or petrol. This is a site where conservation meets adventure, providing an opportunity to see animals and promote a model for sustainable tourism in Kenya's untamed north.

The conservancy enjoys bright days from January to March, following the short rains. The green but not overgrown landscape is ideal for seeing the Big Five, including lions, cheetahs, and leopards. This is also a wonderful moment to investigate the region before the crowd arrives.  
The peak season runs from June to October. These months draw many animals, and are chilly and dry. During this time, visitors from all over the world come to Kenya for safari vacations. It's also the ideal time to mix Loisaba with other Laikipia attractions as Ol Pejeta and Lewa Conservancy.
From April to June, the low season provides long rains. Most resorts close for maintenance, and road travel gets difficult. The short rains occur in November and December; although the conservancy is open, muddy paths may impact game drives.
Loisaba Conservancy can be reached by road or air. Roughly 375 km from Nairobi—a 6 to 7-hour drive through Nanyuki. During the wet months, a 4x4 is advised. You might also fly daily from Wilson Airport to Loisaba's private airstrip in under 90 minutes.
For the greatest Loisaba safari experience, plan your visit around the dry seasons. Loisaba is a year-round destination, but it’s best visited during the Dry season from June to September. For birds, visit from December to March.
