The Ol Pejeta Conservancy is a great place to go on safari all year, but the experience is especially beautiful when the seasons change.

From January to March, the weather is warm and dry, and the scenery is very green. Glaciers on Mount Kenya's peaks sparkle in the clear skies, and February brings large groups of white storks that are great for taking pictures. The days are sunny, but the nights can get cold.
The long wet season lasts from April to June. Some camps close in May, but it's still a great time to travel if you want to avoid crowds and save money. Big cats avoid wet grass by walking on roads, which can be exciting to see when it stops raining. In June, the days get dry again.
The best time to see the Big Five is from July to September, when it is very dry. A lot of animals gather around water sources in the middle of the day. July and August are faster months, but September is usually less busy and just as fun.
From October to December, short rains refresh the fields and bring back birds that have been away for the winter. It's easy to see cheetahs now because there aren't as many people around and the sky is clear. They often hide in the higher grass while they hunt.
Ol Pejeta is easy to get to. It takes about four hours to drive there from Nairobi, or you can take a short flight from Nairobi or the Masai Mara. You can make your vacation even more exciting by adding a beach trip to Zanzibar or the coast of Kenya.
