Day 1 Nanyuki – Mt Kenya Bandas
Transfer from Nairobi with a relaxing drive a bit over three-hours to arrive at Chogoria town around lunch time. After lunch, we hop in a 4×4 and drive to the Chogoria gate station for a one hour trip to The Bandas. We will provide orientation and time for relaxing evening strolls around the Bandas to enjoy and become immersed in the natural abundance of Kenyan wildlife.

Day 2: Trek from Bandas – Lake Ellis Campsite ( 3,600m) 3hrs, 9km
After breakfast and sorting out baggage with the porter and guide we trek up the mountain at a comfortable pace . A slightly longer walk via Lake Ellis gives scenic views of Mugi, Ithanguni and the Giants Billiards Table, a 700m ascent Surpassing beautiful flora and fauna scenery. Lunch on the way up or on the banks of a stream, arrive at the campsite in the afternoon hours at about an elevation of about 3,600m.

Day 3: Lake Ellis – Minto`s Camp. ( 4,200m) 4 hrs, 12km, 600m ascent.
An early start again. Trek on the track till we rejoin the Chogoria route for around 2.5 to 3 hours,gaining an altitude of about 4,100m. Glorious sightings of the Gorges Valley and on your shoulders Northern Moorlands overlooking the Ithanguni.Take lunch at a small stream crossing, before trekking further up the Mintos Hut area at 4200m and our night’s rest. Spending the afternoon at the camp or grabbing a quick 20 min stride to the “Temple” . This is a 150 meters vertical cliff that gets its name from the position visitors often adopt when peering over the edge – they look as if they are praying.An early night is recommended as you are attempting the summit next day.

Day 4: Minto`s – Pt Lenana ( 4,985m)- The caves
A very early start in an attempt to catch the sunrise at the summit. Day starts with a light breakfast at 2;00 a.m and the hike begins for about three hours up to Point Lenana (4985m), the hiker’s summit, arriving there in time to watch the African sunrise. After the summit descent to the camp,Take breakfast .Thereafter descend to the caves a distance of around 8 Km arriving in the afternoon hours.Take a walk by Nithi falls.

Day 5: The Caves – Gate
After morning breakfast Descend towards the gate for about 7.5 Km ,Upon arrival take lunch drive for 2 hours just in time for pick up and transfer back to Nairobi.
