This chill safari, privately guided by James, aims to meet African rhino species Black and White in their habitats. For millions of years rhinos have thrived carrying their pre-historic and charismatic attributes, Sadly poaching and habitat loss have brought their numbers into a drastic decline driving them into their endangered state.
An intimate safari experience for rhino lovers, who are seeking to get into the rhino territories and learn how they live as well as interact with the amazing people doing all they can to protect these endangered species, All the while supporting the conservation Organizations parks and conservancies on the frontlines giving them refuge.
At the end you will be enlightened and conversant with the challenges facing these rhinos and how we all can be part of their protection, with the hope that this intimate experience will be a great tool to help raise the needed awareness about their plight.
This safari will involve visiting some of the top most rhino conservancies in East Africa which include; Solio Game Reserve, Ol Pejeta Conservancy, Lewa Conservancy and Meru National Park.
James Mwenda
James MWenda is a conservationist, professional safari guide and the former caretaker of the last Northern White Rhinos on earth at the world renowned Ol Pejeta Conservancy in Kenya. James will co-host the workshop and provide insight into the world of wildlife conservation in Kenya, and Africa as a whole. This rare opportunity to be guided by James at Ol Pejeta and around Kenya is not to be missed!

ITINERARY
Day 1: Arrival in Nairobi
Upon landing at the Airport, disembarking and clearing with the customs and immigration offices you will be met by our representative who will transfer you to your hotel for your overnight stay.
Overnight and meals at Wildebeest Eco-Camp Deluxe Room.
Day 2: Nairobi-Solio Game Reserve
Check out from the hotel after your breakfast and drive to Solio Game Ranch. Arrive in time for lunch at the hotel.
In the evening, enjoy a guided game drive on the ranch. Learn an interesting history of how Solio was converted from a cattle ranch to a rhino conservancy with its aim being to protect the endangered black rhinos. The reserve plays a major part in the protection and breeding of black and white rhinos in Kenya.

Day 3: Full day at Solio Game Reserve
Solio Game Reserve, a hidden Gem of a sanctuary committed to protecting our endangered rhinos with an undisturbed ecosystem hidden from many that gives these charismatic species a home. A visit to the park will be an undisturbed experience as the ranch is usually not crowded by many people and you can enjoy your piece with our pachyderm friends. In addition to the world’s largest population of white rhinos and the near hundred black rhino, the Solio Reserve is inhabited by different other wildlife, such as buffalo, zebra, giraffe, Oryx, antelope, Thompson’s gazelle, impala, waterbuck and warthog. The park also offers some of the best leopard viewing in the country, and lion and cheetahs can also be found.

Day 4: Solio Game Reserve-Ol Pejeta Conservancy
After breakfast, get ready for pick up where a member of our team will drive with you to Olpejeta Conservancy arriving just in time for Lunch. A guided afternoon game drive at 16:00 hrs. a private safari to meet the last two Northern White rhinos. It’s the only place to see the last two Northern White rhinos as well as chimpanzees that have been rescued from the illegal pet trade.

Day 5: Full day at Ol Pejeta Conservancy
Early morning meeting the K-9 Unit and then later return to the hotel for your breakfast. This geographic region is home to the last two Northern White rhinos and the largest black rhino sanctuary in East and Central Africa.
Here 100 species of mammals and 300 species of birds call it home, one of the most innovative conservancies known for its successive conservation model, as well the largest black rhino sanctuary in East and Central Africa, Here you are bound to meet rhinos both black and white harmoniously grazing and browsing on the plains. Experience a full-day game drive on the plains of Ol Pejeta, and see the expansive bushveld and unravel the pristine beauty of this conservancy. As a leading innovative conservation model, you’ll view a wild landscape with a large amount of wildlife with the highest chances of encountering wild rhino roaming freely within the conservancy.

Day 6: Ol Pejeta Conservancy-Lewa Wildlife Conservancy
An early morning guided bush walk after which you will return to the hotel for your breakfast and preparations for checking out from the hotel. Drive from Ol Pejeta Conservancy to Lewa Wildlife Conservancy for another thrilling experience in the wild. Arrive in time for lunch and enjoy an evening shared game drive.

Day 7: Full day at Lewa Wildlife Conservancy.
The breathtaking landscapes and diverse flora and fauna will leave you memories of a lifetime as you find yourself on another full-day game drive on a 4×4 customized open vehicle at Lewa Wildlife Conservancy. This area is home to various wildlife, including the rare and endangered black rhinos, Grevy’s zebras, and Sitatungas. Spot one of the many critically endangered African wildlife such as the black rhino and the endangered Grevy’s zebra. In addition to endangered species, this conservancy serves as a safe haven for other African animal families such as the elephant, lion, giraffe, wild dog, and other iconic wildlife species in Kenya and is also home to more than 400 species of birds.

Day 8: Lewa Wildlife Conservancy- Meru National Park.
This day marks the end of your stay at the reserve. Depart from Samburu heading to Meru National Park where you can connect with nature. Enjoy a safe road trip to the land of complete wilderness. Arriving at the park in time for lunch. Enjoy the rest of the day at the park with an evening game drive.
Overnight and meal at Rhino River Camp
Day 9: Full day at Meru National Park
Full day at Meru National Park with the most beautiful wilderness surrounded by magnificent hills and rivers. This is where you will see a large herd of buffaloes. Furthermore you can spot games such as lion, elephant, cheetah, leopard, black rhino and many more other wild animals. This place is perfect for solo travelers who desire to connect with nature. Meru National Park has a great history of conservation and the home Of Elsa the lioness that was raised by George and Joy Adamson. Learn from different conservation stories within the park from the rangers who are passionate about environmental matters.
Overnight and meals at Rhino River Camp
Day 10: Meru National Park-Nairobi
This marks the end of your safari where you depart from Meru National Park back to Nairobi. You will carry with you lots of wild experiences and happy memories from your holiday. Not forgetting the conservation awareness that you have gained ready to spread to your home as JM Expedition environmental conservation is close to our hearts.

If you are unable to travel due to Covid-19 related restrictions such as border closures or flight cancelations, your booking is 100% refundable. Please note a negative Covid-19 test is required to enter Kenya. All lodges are maintaining strict covid-19 security measures, including masks, making hand sanitizer available and thorough disinfecting of rooms. All vehicles will be disinfected in between each drive.
